Lies spread about Muslim riot victims by NGOs...

Hi,this article in NDTV.com clearly shows how some NGOs are duping people and falsely claiming that Muslims are suffering in Gujarat's relief camps. Read on...

NGOs cash in on riot victims' misery:

They are called non-profit organisations but not all of them really work for non-profit. When the Gujarat riots took place, many NGOs sprung up overnight, supposedly to help riot victims. But five years on, many who were forced to relocate, say the NGOs have been of no help. Some even allege it remains in the interest of NGOs to paint a grim reality even if things are getting better to further their cause.

Akhtar Ahmed, from Sardarpura in Mehsana, one of the worst hit districts of the 2002 riots, shifted to a new housing complex in Himmatnagar in Sarbarkantha miles away from his village. Akthar's business as a signboard painter has now picked up and his small family is full of hope for the future. ''We are settled in this place. We have got a house to stay. We don't want to go back to Sardarpura. I am earning over Rs 3000 a month. It's comfortable to run my family,'' said Akhtar Ahmed, riot victim, Sabarkantha district.

''They were earlier living in the relief camps. Now all the survivors of Sardarpur carnage live in newly-constructed houses at Satnagar. Relief camps were dismantled long ago,'' said S K Khadeem, District Head, Citizens for Justice & Peace.
