Jab Mochi bana Bata:
by Ramesh Kapoor on Dec 01, 2007 09:15 PM

A dialogue from a movie I watched many years ago (I forgot the title though) wherein the hero distinguishes between low paid jobs and high status owners. A dhobi becomes a laundromat owner, a nayi becomes a hairdresser, and a mochi becomes a Bata. Nothing wrong with these professions, and today we have women are excelling as hairdressers, and I am sure Mayawati's hairdresser also comes from higher caste, and she wears shoes that were cobbled by Bata or any other professional shoemaker. That is beside the point. No job is less important so is that of a Chief Minister where even an ST/SC can sit and preach inequality for popular votes.
