Isn't larger issue than just ban or politics?
by Santosh Gairola on Dec 01, 2007 02:35 PM

Fact is; Mochi is a profession, so is the Sunar.

What if one says, "bole chaprasi bhi khud ko sahab" (peon considers himself boss).
Now, this is definitely derogatory statement, demeaning some profession.
But is it casteist?
No!!!

Those who are working as Mochi (cobbler) gets the caste Mochi; and those who are working as Sunar (Goldsmith), become Sunar.

Means, caste is as same as profession. Thus all Mochis, not working as Mochi are no more Mochi; and all Brahmins, not working as Brahmin are not Brahmin anymore.

See, I solved the issue!!
:D
