List of % of total Indian population
Hindu %u2013 80 %
Muslims %u2013 14%
Christians %u2013 2.3 %
Sikhs %u2013 1.87 %
Buddhist %u2013 0.8 %
Jains %u2013 0.41 %
Others %u2013 0.65 %

I%u2019ll suggest try to reduce 12% of Muslims population (by any means) and bring them in minority level before giving them minority status.

The TFR (Total number of children born per women ) according to Religion in 2001 was : Hindus - 2.27, Muslims - 3.06, Sikhs - 1.86, Christians - 2.06, Buddhists - 2.29, Jains - 1.50 , Animists and Others - 2.99, Tribals - 3.16, Scheduled Castes - 2.89.
