Where The Mind Is Without Fear
by Patriot on Aug 31, 2007 06:32 AM

Reading all the messages here and the sheer hatred between Hindus and Muslims. Realizing with total disappointment that the british have divided India so perfectly, I only have the words of Rabindranath Tagore to regain my unflinching hope in my country, my motherland, my life...my INDIA.

--------------------------
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action--
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
--------------------------

Don't ever fight for independence again if a foreign rule takes India away from you, if it will amount to this hatred in the end. Don't look at your neighbours and only embrace each other as INDIANS before you even ask each other for a name.

You are all part of one nation. I am proud to be an INDIAN and don't give yourself reasons to be otherwise.

The Patriot
