This seems true even from political history. After the greeks were defeated by Chandragupt Maurya, they had to cede most of the large Persian empire, now Iran and Iraq to India. That gave us land access and supremacy over the Persian land. Thats how Hinduism must have travelled to deep inside middle east, which was later overthrown by Mohammad.
