Decide Yourself
by Jitesh Kumar Agrawal on Aug 30, 2007 03:34 PM

Congress tried to play politics in this too and that has backfired on them now. This deal was started during the NDA Govt. term so does anyone know why BJP is opposing it now?????

Its because Congress did not think it to be necessary to discuss the provisions of the deal in the Parliament with an idea of putting it before all that this deal has been done by Congress for the benefit of all. PM even went to the extend of defending this by saying that it was a bilateral agreement between 2 Govt. and Parliament need not be given details before the deal and when its done it can be informed to the Parliament. Congress thought that since it was started by NDA, they would not oppose it and they will have a cake walk getting it passed in the parliament and now it has backfired on them badly.

The details of agreement since its discussion whatever people came to know of was through press briefings that US had to give to its people back there in US....Indian Govt. was never transperent on the whole deal. Its only when it was signed that it came into public domain for which the PM now begs that it has been signed and sealed and cannot be renegotiated...and if we go back on the agreement, India would loose face Internationally.

Now its for you all to decide what Congress did was it right....though the deal is very important to every Indian National, the question is whether the conduct of Congress was correct????
