Indo-US N-deal suspect: Former SC judge
by Ashutosh Kole on Aug 28, 2007 10:36 PM

This is indeed the point the Left is making. The history has shown that US goes into such deals with countries only to take them to its side (rather its control). The last thing India wants is for US to control our Foreign Policy and Economy. And the Left is right in opposing such a deal which is hinting to the usual US policy. BUT the Right wing media, the so called educated Indian youth, the stupid political surveys who have no basis for their predictions (and who asserted a victory for BJP in last elections) are portraying a negative image of the Left just for petty gains. I mean, cannot these people understand the US logic behind wanting to examine our nuclear bases? WHY?

We have not explored the Wind, Solar, Tidal, Hydroelectric energies but I dont understand why the PM is so adamant on the Nuclear energy when it is expensive and which alone, with the treaty with US, can alter our foreign policy and economy. Moreover we need far more energy than that promised by the deal.

Why is the BJP not taking any clear stand? Why is it quiet? They are sitting and watching the fun. They are playing a political game. They are the last once who are patriotic. Shame on them.
