Extremism has nothing to do with one's private beliefs. You may believe your is the only true way, it is your belief, which nobody has the right to question.
But by 'extremism' one means the type of ideology typical of BJP, SIMI, RSS, Taliban et al. Christian fundamentalists are a strange group, but not violent as a class, as the forgoing despicable lot.
