Impasse On 123 Agreement
by Basant Maheshwari on Aug 25, 2007 06:40 AM

Lets recognise the fact that India being atruly democratic country should "walk the talk" by allowing all parties to express their opinions and cocerns. Why blame Communists and BJP and UNPA for savoury controversy,if they have a concern the Government of the day should encourage discussuion and debate on it to iron out the differences.India a s acountry will continue to enjoy good international image if government of day and their successors will continue to agree withateral, trilateral and multilateral agreements signed.
I think the Government has failed in managing the issue by showing to much hurry.Nothing is lost even today - call for a timebound debate in Parliament, call for/invite persons with knowledge as guest speakers in Parliament and have an open discussion so that all doubts are ironed out. This will bring in open all political parties/fronts unconnected/different agenda to the fore thereby exposing their shallow concern for the country.
A final decision say after 10/15 days of debate and discussion will send a strong committment to International community about maturity of Indian democracy.
