Batman, I think you are missing the point - we do not exist for the sake of industry. If a state enjoys good labor protection, good, free health care, free education for all, taxes industry heavily, then that state is much more LIVABLE. If you look at the top livable countries in the world, such as Sweden, Norway or Canada - they ALL implement the above policies. The goal is for humans to live happily - not for some vague economic growth numbers. Amartya Sen calls this unaimed opulence.
