I came to much the same conclusion when I read the American constitution and compared it to Bharat's.
Some of you may remember VS Naipaul's writing's which parodied Bharat's efforts in technological innovation. Then we wondered whether Bharat could ever make the leap. A short few decades later, Bharat is providing intellectual capital as countries line up to tap into talent that is available in diverse fields.
Bharat's constitution exhibits much the same shortcomings. Just as Bharat's people have left behind their lack of confidence as innovators and in business, our constitution should not be a sacred cow that should not be beyond reproach because Bharat's leaders crafted it for a people whose entire history subjected them to exploitation and despotism.
Bharat's constitution stands as a thoroughly discredited document because it entrenched the Congress Party's program and ideology into it in the communist/socialist model. That ideology stands discredited in the rest of the world. Bharat's political parties contend for naked power because the constitution has usurped and pays lip service to programs, which they should be offering. It is no wonder Bharat's politics is so bankrupt.
