Authors have a point
by Sincere Citizen on Aug 24, 2007 12:06 PM

These authors have a point about abundance of natural energy sources in India, but frankly their credibility as authentic source as well as successfully solving problems doesent exist.
For. eg. Medha Patkar is seen more as an hinderance to growth related projects rather than safeguarding Indian citizens interests.
Ideally NGO's which fully understand and comprehend the drawbacks of nuclear power should work with govt. to give alternatives and take up projects and successfully implement them. This will not only increase their credibility but will also assure their critics that valid and cleaner alternatives are available and can be practically used.
Already states in the US like CA are opting for using Solar energy to generate electricity and its a viable alternative.
The costs come down when mass usage happens, and also Nuclear energy is not cheap by any standards.
