CBI - What Use of it?
by RABI KANUNGO on Aug 23, 2007 10:22 AM

It is a matter of distress that CBI has been turned to be a beauty-in-wallet organisation of the Ruling party or its accomplices. Apparently CBI proves its records of judicial failure. It is not that the organisation is unable; rather careful steps are taken to diminish its power. Release of Shibu Soren from a crimininal conviction in a time when the UPA government is in crises of survival directly suggest complicity of the government which must have been managed by tampering the prosecution. In view of such recurrence there is no need to have an organisation like CBI and preaching too much of its working independence and assumed superiority. This white elephant must die before its honour ultimately tarnished.
