Indian comarades, you have no credibility
by Atreya Sarma Uppaluri on Aug 22, 2007 10:14 PM

Indian communists talking of India%u2019s %u2018sovereignty%u2019!? Notorious for their dogmatic approach and belated hindsight, the reds had reviled Indian icons like Swami Vivekananda, Subhas Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel. They never acknowledge their Indian roots, and they never draw inspiration from the Indian ethos. How come suddenly the commies have begun to be %u2018patriotic%u2019 and talk of Indian %u2018sovereignty%u2019 judging by their outbursts of protestations in the matter? The commies seem to have been further emboldened by the stand of especially the BJP, who shouldn%u2019t have blindly opposed the Congress just because the latter happened to be in the saddle now, even as they continue to treat the BJP as an untouchable.
