indians are not very bright people
by Pradip Parekh on Aug 21, 2007 11:11 PM

there is a gorundswell of support for the treaty in india. however, the supporters don't have all the facts before them, and they don't seem to care to want to have the facts. the indians don't seem to care for an honest debate on this issue. they have swallowed the media reports hook line and sinker in favor of the 123. this clearly suggests that indians are not really democratically oreinted people; they are lazy, too eager to trust the media that write what people rather want to hear. the indian people are scared what an honest debate might reveal the truth that they rather not hear, which suits congress just fine. but th ebjp party is the only one that has th emettle to face the truth as it is, and hence it is calling for vote or joint parliamentary committee probe.

the agreements in usa are notorious for what is called their fine print. instances are galore in usa that people have been burnt badly because of the fine prints in agreements. in toehr words, people believed one thing when they signed an agreement only to find out that they did not sign agreement they thought they signed. bjp is keenly aware of this american agreement-culture, and hence want sto probe the fine print. the indian people need to trust the bjp on this and must insist on full debate and vote. congress has never made a good international agreement that it can boast about. are you happy with the agreement that nehru had signed for india on kashmir? of course, not. since nehru the story of congress
