comrades fears

Dear Mr. Karat and family, this is what I think about your fears on India%u2019s nuclear deal.

If we sign the deal that does not mean we have to toe the US lines. This is a DEAL and not a free gift, so to get some we have to give some. Now we need to analyze what we are conceding. The US as a nation has its own compulsions and fears just like us Indians, and has put some ifs and buts. But the amount of concessions that we have got (compared to other countries and our present stand) is very high.

By the way being a chamcha and acting like one are two different things. There are countries who are complete chamcha of US, look at their economic standard and military. Even China sometimes acts like one%u2026doesn%u2019t it? If you want something then there is no harm in acting chamcha for a time being.

We must realize that we live in an ever changing world. In which people change, ideology and circumstances change (Just like BJP stance). This brings in new opportunities and new fears. This is true in all spears including business, politics and military. No one would have imagined a few decades ago that China would be one of the biggest business partners of the US. There are a dozens of examples.

In this world only the fittest survive. We need to take calculated risks and march ahead. Or else we miss the bus. Being in the power league always helps (Even Chanakya would have advocated that). Try to learn from the past but do not try to extrapolate it.
