. However, If we invest a lot of money in building these power plants, then we will have to use them, otherwise all those money will be wasted. So once we are in this game, there is no way out, we have to accept the terms of the suppliers. Thus, this deal will not bring us self sufficiency; we will have to depend on others, just like we have to do it for oil. Thus until and unless we become self-sufficient in our energy need we will always be manipulated by others. This deal is not so much about energy security; it is more to do about real politics. Indo-US trade is heavily tilted towards India. Some may feel that this deal will bring some balance to that. However as far as the energy security of India is concerned, my belief is that India may not be so secured after all.
