Instead of looking at these riots in isolation, it will be useful if a database is prepared listing all the riots since independence. The database must contain the following: 1. Date/month/year 2. Location 3. Who started it. 4. What was the primary cause? 5. What are the secondary/perceived causes 6. Casualties segregated by religion, police action, mob action, - both dead and injured 7. Who is responsible? 8. Outcome of commissions/ trials. This database, I am sure, will dispel the myth that only muslims suffer or more muslims than hindus are killed in all riots.
