Nuclear deal: It could have been worse
by damodaran mohan on Aug 08, 2007 06:22 PM

..%u2019deal%u2019 or no %u2018deal%u2019 , India can 'test' anyway. what happens if India conducts a 'test' without the deal ? repeat of 1974/1998 and aftermath sanctions, nuclear isolation continues etc. etc.? so, the consequences are even worse , right ? then why not give it a try to make best use of the deal and if forced to %u2018test%u2019 by circumstances, then damn the deal . or make good with some %u2018simulation%u2019 test! if we can do without the %u2018deal%u2019 altogether because many think it is bad, then we should also be good enough to shirk it off midway ? why not our nuclear scientists come out with the comparisons of the consequences in case of 'test' with and without the %u2018deal%u2019. may be the common people will be able to view the 'deal' in better perspective then.
