Upper caste superiority ? what ??
by Sincere Citizen on Aug 07, 2007 11:58 AM

First of all the entire quota premise is false as well as the arguments given against so called upper castes as well as the definition of "upper" caste itself.
Basically an educated intelligent person who followed certain strict code of conduct was called a "Brahmin", anyone could become a Brahmin/ Rishi you just had to follow the given path.
The so called "Upper castes" were very few in numbers hence their prosperity showed whereas the so called "dalits" were in huge numbers and hence their prosperity did not show but poverty did.
There are many "birth" Brahmins who are poor and illitrate and there are many "birth" dalits who are rich (and were rich in past too)
The entire quota premise is based on politics of divide and rule the simple logic behind a part of the society is given special benefits (justified or not) so that they get alienated form others who then feel its injustice and in the least become cynical in worst start fighting.
Quota needs to be eliminated not for the benefit of "upper castes" but for the benefit of so called "BC/OBC" and the Indian society.
