Flood situation
by rediffmad on Aug 06, 2007 03:25 PM

Every year it is the same story during monsoon. We see the tragic situation in Bihar, an then the politicians will blame one another to take mileage for their selfish ends. Not a single politician thinks of long term strategy, how to turn the calamity into an opportunity, except our beloved ex-president Shree Abdul Kalam. He still repeats every where that we should have a national river linking so that excess water from areas can be chanellised. No one gives a damn about this idea. Everything is short term for the bunch of politicians. Whenever there is a calamity like this, it is only an opportunity for these soulless set of rulers who can glorify themselves by their gestures of distributing food packets and pidly amounts to the flood victims and soon all is forgotten. The affected people continue to suffer and even severly when there is repeat of the calamity. Then we hear of suicides which again becomes national news and politicians grap the opportunity to bring themselves into limelight. Is it a pity or a shame or Gods will that we Indians should be subjected this kind of treatment by our selfish, mindless and incompetent rulers......
