RE:Approach to Improve the Political System in INDIA
by David Johnson on Aug 05, 2007 11:06 AM

This phenomenon results in Political instability and misappropriation of political power. Coalition partner who can provide the lead party with support is sure to get better ministries or power irrespective of whether they have capable people to run the ministries. This situation may work in the short term but it is not advisable if India wants to succeed as a nation and become a regional power. However there is a silver lining in the cloud because majority of Indians believe in Social Development and Economic Progress.
Proposal - Major political parties should adopt a corporate like structure. They should have a vision and a mission which should be tuned towards Social Development and Economic Progress. A political party then becomes an Umbrella organization primarily composed of %u2018stakeholders%u2019. These stakeholders do NOT work; rather they collect or recruit politicians, intellectuals, representatives who can execute the vision and mission of the party. This organization then takes over local level political parties or forms alliances with them by making them a STAKEHOLDER in the Main Organization. If there are no %u2018Hard Written%u2019 ideologies, it will be easier to achieve this objective.
The policy of recruitment is standard across the organization, there are certain Educational, Aptitude, Attitudinal criteria%u2019s to be met before a wannabe politician is given placement on a contractual basis. The party should give adequate representation to people from all walks of life
