What sops? We are being sold a CTBT and FMCT with a cap on nuclear research. Along with that we are also giving the US a lever on the indian economy via the power being generated. The strategic alliance between China and India is non-existent due to chinese threats both direct and in-direct. That does not mean that the US is going to be our natural ally. GOI is not being completely objective. In order to avoid hard decisions at home, they are taking the easy way out. In return they are willing to be a poodle to the US. In my opinion thats the reason the US wants to rush this treaty. They will never get a better bargain.
