And your fear that the futuer energy scenario would be controlled by US is unfounded as the nucear energy will only be a fraction of the entire energy requirement of India. And India would have free hand on its own development of nuclear energy through among others, Fast Breeder Technology, in which US is more than eager. Furthermore, India does not have any other way to get the nuclear energy without explicit help from US, at least at present.
That does not mean that I am a supporter in whatever US does. Same is the case with China. I would rather believe on none. You will be never sure of their flipping against you any time. Especially US government can almost always have some foolish tale to tell its own audience for not observing any or all provisions of an accord any time after it is in force. And they do not care anyone outside. Americans believe the same with all the zeals in the world. China is atleast predictable.
