Great step for INDIA
by s b on Aug 03, 2007 10:13 PM

This is a great deal with India having all the options. MAny peeps are whining about compromises.All US is saying is in spite of we not signing NPT, they will provide us with technology and fuel. NOT DONE WITH ANY OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. We should look at it as a Principled stand from india, not as a compromise. ONLY NATION TO GET THIS WITHOUT SIGNING NPT. If you do not know how big a deal NPT is for west u know jack. Some idiots are trying to showcase this as a compromise.

Even if there are restrictions WE have the option to walk out.

Back to point. The day we think our need to test nukes is more inportant than our need for power, we can:
1. Ask for re-interpretation of deal, failing which:
2. Ask for lenient interpretation of Hyde act, failing which,
3. Ask for a Hyde act ammendment, failing which,
4. Ask US to F*** off and do the nuke tests.

Last point will mean revocation of agreement. So what, remember we started above 4 points with a premise that our need for nuke test was greater than the fuel need, right? Point is it is an option we have that we did not have a week ago. It is our decision to exercise. US is still not forcing us to buy anything. Analogy - No one rents u a house and a landlord says you can stay if u don't drink. How is this a bad deal? You can still drink, only he will throw u out. if you still want to live, don't drink.

House=fuel; drink=test; u=india; landord=US.
