Writer says -> **There is, I think, little merit in the editorial view taken by some newspapers in India that Sanjay Dutt's punishment is a triumph for the judicial system, as proof that no one is above the law. Such a view does not stand up against the public knowledge that those who have done far worse crimes walk free every day.** -- What a load of crap!! So, if XYZ escaped punishment because of laxity in application of law, Sunjay Dutt should automatically be pardoned? Why not ask for imprisonment of all those who are walking free, rather than saying that laws should be relaxed for Sunjay Dutt?
Writer says -> **This is not merely because public sympathy is on his side, but so are truth, justice, and the whole moral universe of Indian cinema -- which is seldom wrong about anything.** -- Ha ha ha ha... So now, the nation is suppose to take moral guidance from Indian cinema because it's moral universe is never wrong!! Yeah right. I take a bow to this writer. May Rediff have more like him and run their site down to gutter.
