Who's going to verify whether the 'employment' actually goes to the poor clod-hopper rather than the relatives and cronies of those in charge of the scam, ahem...I meant scheme. Chances are, down the road, the roster will be full of ghost workers and beneficiaries, not to mention the number of people ending up dead - think of the thousands of Rs 25,000 that will be paid out for these demised bogus workers. Rather than waste taxpayers monies, govt should change farm laws, labor laws and land laws - only this will give a fillip to rural development and employment, not pretend work for pretend pay.
