Many people compare Sri Lanka issue with Kashmir just to turn the issue again India. The core issues are different here. Both of them want freedom, just because some one is asking for freedom it not practical to give freedom to everyone. Then finally there will be thousands of countries in the world. We have to look into the core issues.
In India Kashmir people are treated as equal to other citizens of India (or special citizens to be exact). They have full freedom including education, job opportunities, separate judicial law, etc. They may not have so much rights if it is separated from India.
But in Sri Lanka it is different, the Tamils were treated as second class citizens. Even though both Tamils and Sinhalese settled in Sri Lanka at the same time (about 2000 years back), the Tamils are still treated as outsiders.
If people want to say that what ever method the LTTE is following is wrong, write only about it, but do not compare it with Kashmir problem.
