Supreme Court has given a befitting reply to this shameless govt! They were hell bent on implementing quota regime despite serious doubts being raised on its efficacy as a tool for social upliftment and the real beneficiaries of the program. With an Eye on UP polls, congress was adamant in implementing it this year only.
First of all distinction has to be made between OBCs and dalits. We should not club dalits with OBCs. These are dalits who have been exploited and ostracized for centuries. Many of the castes in OBCs themselves perpetrated these crimes. So argument that OBCs where suppressed for centuries should be accepted with pinch of salt. It might be true for some but surely not for all.
Time and again, pro-reservationists have cited example of TN as a success model. It needs to be highlighted that TN OBC list doesnot represent only genuine OBCs. For political reasons this list kept on growing and growing. So in a state where 85% of the population are listed as OBCs, something is wrong!! Performance comparison between OBCs and forward class in this scenario is definitely illogical and flawed.
