u were friends all along... from ur kg classes till ur intermediate, as equals at all levels. but when it comes to joining engineering, u find that ur friend got a seat while u couldn't. then u start thinking about the reason why u didn't get... and it slowly dawns that he got it through reservation. it may not be immediate, but the feeling of hurt in you for not getting seat slowly develops. in the worst case, it might even show its ugly face breaking the bond between between u two. nope, i am not trying to say this applies to all, but i am sure this applies to most of the cases. and this is how India is breaking up.
The closest of pals with no prejudice towards anyone break up because of these reservations. This is increasing the gap between the younger generations than filling it. We all need to collectively work towards eliminating this social evil. Yes, u heard it right, reservation has become more of a social evil these days rather than a stepping stone.
