Every time the reservation debate comes up, the question the self styled champions of OBC cause will rake up is the caste system and say why they cant become temple priests!! First of all, OBC means Other Backward CLASSES. And NOT Other Backward CASTE! A poor Brahmin kid is as much a OBC as a poor dalit kid. Poverty and hunger strikes every one. So, just denying merit as a means for judging a students credibility to join a prestigious institute is according to me sacrilege. Next question I have OBC quota supporters is, why should the rich amongst you get reservation? If the kids of rich OBCs, just while away their time and such vagabonds with barely any marks walk into IITs and IIMs On the basis of quotas, then is there any point in considering IIT and IIMs as quality institutions? Which recruiter will go to such institutes and recruit third grade candidates from there? I do not understand under what basis the government of India assumes that Reservations on basis of caste and creed, and that too as much as 50% of the seats, is not Racism and violation of the constitution. If a poor Brahmin kid with 90% marks does not get admissions to a good institute anywhere, and another similar poor dalit kid with 60% marks gets admission to choicest college, is this equality? The situation I have presented reminds me of Nazi germany!
