If Loganathan was not a Hindu
by G Chamu on Apr 19, 2007 08:59 AM

James says that the TAXPAYERS money not respected. Probably, he grudges because Prof.Loganathan was a HINDU and that would be the reason. Had the prof been an Indian of a different faith, all the people would have saluted the government gesture.
Why not an industry stalward take over such a cause? they would not. Everyone thinks that it is the government's duty. What if, the TN government had waited or passed the buck on the central government. it would have been stillworse.
Taxpayers money is meant for all the societal needs. When such money could be afforded for calamities, this massacre has brought much pain to many families. the talk is only of Prof.Loganathan. the other massacre victims and their respective countries/states also are in for a helping hand. the other observations are even absurd. During such times of disastors, a loss in the 1 km /1 mile radius puts the human mind out of gear. what if such thing happens at the other end of the globe. Atleast on such occasions, the administrators think & act wisely and they had done so now. Thanks to Mr.Veerasamy in his gesture.
Interestingly, every Tamilian does something for his state. may be because of reservations he is not able to get a job in TN.

while condoling the loss of an academic, the Passport Department and the TN Government needs to be lauded for their efforts & support.
