Another hung assembly in UP?
by Shridhar Iyer on Apr 26, 2007 05:42 PM

According to exit polls, another round of hung assembly awaits the people of UP this time too. All the three leading contenders BJP, BSP, & the SP may not be able to cobble together a coalition which can last 5 years. Earlier BJP & BSP tried this combination, but failed miserably as difference of opinion erupted too often. This time also, in the event of a coalition Govt, things may not be different. Another round of horse trading, taking to MLAs to some hill stations, bargaining for more and more ministership, etc. might happen. Don't know where UP is heading too?! Congress may try to fish in troubled waters by recommending for Governors rule and then a fresh election.

Best wishes to the people of UP.

Srinivasan.
