RE:what is wrong with America?
by Maximus Decimus Meridius on Apr 18, 2007 05:45 AM

Arrogance? You seem to have way way more arrogance (about what, I fail to gather) than the poster to whom you replied. He called a spade a spade... we are NOT a first world country... maybe your ivory tower is, but not the stuff outside it.

It is not unpatriotic to criticize your own country. That is OK for a dictatorship or theocracy but not a democracy. The whole point of free speech is to protect all voices, no matter how much they disagree with yours (Voltaire).

Inasmuchas the glocks are concerned, well we dont fire glocks. Our people use RDX. Clearly, we are far more advanced. Insofaras the glocks were concerned, didnt you have the "humanity" to consider the people shot by a mentally ill man?

What "genocide" has US been involved in? Iraq war is not a genocide... call it what you want -illegal, immoral, etc and all that is valid, but not a genocide. Most people are dying in Iraq at the hands of insurgents who plant IEDs. The initial bombing of Iraq cost a few civilian lives, but since then, the "genocide", if any has been by the locals. Hitler's extermination of jews is a genocide... The gujrat riots was a genocide, so were the sikh riots (Yeah, forgot about that, didnt you?)

What discrimination are you talking about? Brits are 100% more racist than americans. Of the industrialized west, America has least racism today. Yes, they've had a history of slavery in the past, but we've had the caste system.

My point? Dont go holier than thou on others. You are in as much of rubbish as they are, perhaps more so.
