Firoz was only Firoz Ghandy. For unknown reasons MK Gandhi panicked when Indira and Firoz married in London under islamic rituals. He got them brought back to India, rechristened them with politically suitable names and performed another marriage under vedic(!) rights.
MKG was not blameless in the entire episode since Nehru derived his strength directly from this mentor.
