The comments are well calculated political statements intended at masses going on polls in one of the most backward illiterate states of India. I belong to UP and I know how many idiots from my city would become fanatic supporters of Rahul Gandhi with all this melodrama he is creating.
However, whether or not the family has actually contributed to anything in India is a different discussion altogether. Readers here mostly happen to be from different social strata compared to the target audience to whom Raoul Gandhi or Bianca Gandhi speak for their Italian motives.
