Please take off the blinkers
by Narendra Tade on Apr 12, 2007 01:35 PM

While reding the article of Choksi and Thakur I was developing an impression that these two gentlemen think that the world is made of America and India only, while reading the footnote to the article about their credentials - my impression converted to conviction.

Firstly, India is viewed in the west as an emerging market of the third world, no developed nation holds India as any kind of military power, worth a mention.

Secondly, the entire Europe, including most democrats of London are sick and tired of America's war-games (Re: France didn't even bother to participate in Iraq). The world is aware that most problems in the Middle East started from seedlings planted by the US ( Re: Osama Bin Laden) and last week CNN-West Europe went overboard in explaining that the first Nuclear Reactor of Iran was given by US during Eisenhower's presidency - though now Mr Bush is jumping around to pull down Iran's nuclear program. ( Though history tells us that Iran (read Persia) was the only superpower of the world when America was nowhere and the Greek and Roman empires were in infancy).

In view of this, I don't forsee any genuine role of America in world peace, since they are busy trying to consolidate their position behind every public move towards peace....and please don't bring India into this because India is yet to be recognised seriously in the west, as a military power and even if India is considered a power someday - we should not get into the squabbles between US and the Arab world....since both are equally civilized in their dealings....and are capable of demolishing the other, without India's intervention.
