Eradication of illiteracy and poverty
by KEDAR MARATHE on Apr 04, 2007 10:45 PM

It is nice that the honourable PM has mooted this wish and idea of eradicating poverty and illiteracy. BUT I would appreciate if he first takes stringent measures to control this unwanted and excess population in India, which is the root cause of all problems and has completely disturbed the demand-supply balance of all commodities. It is sad that none of the politicians, celebrities, NGO's etc are talking about POPULATION CONTROL. All of them perhaps dont want to touch this topic because certain sections of our society, dont preach and believe in birth control. Hence by focussing on POPULATION CONTROL AND TAKING STRINGENT MEASURES TO CONTROL THE SAME,THEY ARE AFRAID THAT THEY MAY INVITE THE WRATH OF THESE SECTIONS AND MAY LOSE VALUABLE VOTE BANKS.Like China, where I was given to understand that there are stringent punishments for having more than one child, our government being democratic, should at least give attractive incentives and sops in sales tax, income tax and similar levies for couples, with one or two children who are helping the nation to control its population. ALL THESE ABOVE mentioned VIP'S AND ORGANISATIONS SHOULD STRONGLY PROMOTE THE SAYING "PRODUCE MORE TREES, NOT CHILDREN. TREES WILL BRING PROSPERITY, POPULATION WILL BRING DISASTER" KEDAR MARATHE BANGALORE
