Although I agree with the sentiments of the article, it is foolish not to look at historic trends. Any and every democratically elected leader in Pakistan has had his/her career cut short acrimoniously by either execution or exile. People in Pakistan and world over must come to the realization that democracy is not something that works for Pakistan. Now Musharraf is obviously biding time to put "his people" incharge of the army before he puts away his uniform so that his fate does not coincide with his predecessors; but that too is a political ploy, which even if carried out will not ensure a true democracy for Pakistan.
