Let us first accept how things have changed.

It is most ewlcome development that talks shall commence again.Indian foreign affairs dept. must now come out of old mindset that India is winner and Pakistan has lost 3 wars.That was different environment when Communists regarded Islam as taboo and vice versa.And America is friend of none.Pakistan had to accept defeats. But now after BJP dr. singh is strongly with America which never makes allies any strong to enable it to exploit allies.While Musharraf has got several new friends and new young communists too. Islam is united and after India sided with Israel now OIC is firmly with Pakistan. True Kashmir is our integral part but India may keep in mind ground realities and now both countries must find some equilibrium as neither Musharraf can afford to forget Kashmir nor Dr. Singh can give any concessions somuch hot is public opinion in both countries. But yes new common friends can be of use if both India and Pak come out of uSA influence and India atleast gets fulltime foreign minister whether USA likes it or not after Indian failures at NAM as compared to Musharraf Kasuri joint venture.
