How about CIA and others?
by H. Venkatachalam on Oct 26, 2006 04:19 PM

ISI's penetration of our armed forces are on the rise. No doubts about it. However, it penetration is a fraction of what CIA is currently achieved in India or the erstwhile KGB had done in the 80s.

While ISI spies are regularly caught and unearthed, we had never heard of any KGB spies caught in 80s or CIA spies being caught recently.

CIA has more interests to guard than what ISI is seeking. CIA's penetration is more intensive and result oriented. However, CIA spies are never caught.

Who are the CIA's informers. They are certainly NOT the low ranking sepoys/clerks of govt departments. They are all the Ministers, bis bosses and top brass of armed forces, and many govt departments including external affairs. These bis bosses trade vital information in exchange for college admission and/or jobs for their children, spouses and relatives, green card and big investments. Sadly these are the ones who would never be caught.

Of course, we will continue to catch small time ISI spies. That is the irony of the system.
