The Disease of Degeneration in our value-system has caught upwith the Armed Forces too. The dictum of our country today is "Money matters above everything else". Nation, intergrity etc., are secondary. When our leaders have kicked aside ehics in public life it should not be surprising that our men in uniform too follow suit. Also, when there is crass affluence and vulgar display of wealth all around, the poor tend to forget teachings of morals like sincerity loyalty . The urge to get rich quickly overtakes. If this trend is not checked by appropriate measures including adequate salaries and perks, our Armed forces may not come out successful in case of a future war with our Neighbour in the West. Even God cannot protect us.
