Tears of blood in my eyes
by Mohan on Nov 20, 2006 02:11 AM

When me and my 5 room mates in Minneapolis working for an Indian software company talk about the language issue we always get into fights .But we always agree to disagree . To expand we have six people from six different states in my room happiily living together. A tamilian,a telugu,a maharashtrian, a Kannadiga, one from Jharkhand and one from Gujarat. Four of us are Hindus and one is a muslim and one is christian . I am not going to say who is who.

We are a country with diverse cultures and there is no denying the fact about it . We have our share of differences of language and religion and Physical features and nothing is going to change that . Why dont we stop talking bad about each other . A simple article for praising development by an author has become a bitter dispute betweeen all Indians and we denigrate ourselves at the first opportunity by classifying us into Northies and Southies .

When my grandfather joined INA in Singapore and was wounded at shillong, he did not think about liberating his own small town in Tamil Nadu nor did my uncle who died in Kashmir at the hand of terrorists think about protecting only the south Indians .
