Am a Sr. ctzn. Got only son married (arngd, no dowry), girl wanted a Euro honeymoon for lack of time son settled for SE Asia. Minutes after marriage ceremony girl declare she will like to remain independent, and forbade husband even to touch her on eve of honeymoon before boarding plane. After coming back, within weeks she declares she accepted an outstation job (without knowledge of husband and with a threat from her parents of her possible suicide if her decision not acceptable to husband) Obviously marriage was unconsummated. Total duration of her stay with husband was for less than 30 days. It became clear it was a calculated fraud, with the girls family as accomplice. Before she left,was asked to take back her jewellery etc. with her (her father initialed receipt), a divorce petition was filed; the girl and her parents are unavailable to receive court notice in all known address. Now with this law I think the fraudsters will have a field day. Mind u girl wkg. with the best-known Indian s/w co. her father PSU officer, not a family with shady background or no education. This law will help frauds and blackmailers not victims of DV. Hail DV 2006 LAW.& tireless activists.
