reservation

Reservation based on past perceived or real injustice is like starving the child because the father was obese. The upperclass represented by the brahmin and other communities migrated out of Tamil Nadu during the last one hundred twenty years. Today, the upperclass in Tamil Nadu is a minority community with only the parents staying there. The cream of the population has emigrated within India and abroad- a good portion for IT Industry. If a state consciously decides that a segment of its population should face reverse discrimination some would perish, the balance would survive. The Government has decided that we brahmins and other upper class should be punished for some past sins. So be it.Brahmins have survived- much like India over the centuries- and would continue to survive, but their contribution would be elsewhere.
