Pompous rubbish
by Sridhar Chari on May 29, 2006 08:00 PM

Just one line... Whoever has heard of the emperor's new clothes. Food is meant to be enjoyed and eaten not to looked at for the purpose of enjoyment. Apparently elite food means meagre portions, delayed service, unnecessary gizmos, slow service and deliberate waiting period and plenty of snobbery from a country that is renowned for its fatty insipid food. Just sample lovely lemon and green tea mousse, lovely bread and unpasteurised butter, have the orange jelly before the beetroot jelly, what is teh point behind this mindless hypocrisy?
And Just who are the 600 chefs who vote this the best dining place in the world. People who churn out the same pompous rubbish. Why do Indians have to go to such ridiculous lengths to show that they have arrived?
