I appreciate your sentiments on the issue of reservation and mostly agree with whatever you have said in the article. However, in your sense of anguish, you have ended up making one misleading statement.
"Let Us remember that a year before the first partition, Gandhi announced that the 'partition will have to be over his dead body.' The government assumes that the opponents of the new partition will, like Gandhi, eventually learn to live with it."
Mr Subhash Kak, Mahatma Gandhi did not "eventually learn to live with partition". He had to pay the price of his life for trying to get the feuding communities together.
Like the politicians you criticize, please do not bring Gandhiji in here and degrade him.
