While the idea of the author is good, I would like to point out that the wave of propoganda that India is getting, is very much needed. Most of the Indians, although proud of their past and culture which the author talks about, continue to look down upon themselves as a race of 'losers'. They think that nothing happens right in the country and all the policies that our leaders adopt whether economic or military or political are made by incompetent bureaucrats and corrupt politicians. In such a time, the current propaganda is definitely a good morale booster and I think, it is helping people have a second look upon themselves and bring in 'self/national-confidence' which is badly lacking among the Indians in general. This international attention should help the average Indian to stop banking only upon our 'glorious past' to draw motivation and confidence and instead to focus and believe in our potential in the 'present' as well.
