Professional approach to terrorism
by Gautam Sinha on Mar 08, 2006 01:51 PM

The article by Mr Raman is excellent. His call for professional action from us citizens is correct. But tell me unless people react in a manner so that political pressure is created, why will be a largely unaccountable govt listen? Do you really suppose that the terrorists could carry these out without inside help of political forces? In a state where MLAs are caught in sting operation and are defended by the govt, why would citizens leave the law and order passively into the hands of the state police only when we know that their unprofessional handling is one of the factors that contribute to the courage of these blasted terrorists? How can he call leaving everything to state police as professional act on part of citizens? The right action is to create enough pressure on the govt to force the central forces to act fast and sideline the MLAs who betray our nation.
